The low evening sun set the waves on fire on our way south on Highway #1. The colors on these 10 feet breakers got so glaucous before they went pitch dark all of a sudden.

This cuddly couple lives in the California Academy of Science, San Francisco. A little girl watching them said: “Aaaaw, how cute – they’re holding hands!” After that the couple went to second base which raised more questions than Dad could answer.

Golden Graytness

Shot on the Golden Gate Bridge on our way to Napa Valley. I used a red filter and increased the contrast. The rest is manual focus, my daily walk-around lens and a camera, poking out of my sunroof.

Last Shopping Spree

Taking a walk on the beach close to Half Moon Bay CA lead me to this rusty shopping cart, spending his retirement between sand cliffs close to the shoreline.

Tubular Colors

While visiting the Bay Model in Sausalito this colorful tubing caught my attention. The Bay Model is a three-dimensional hydraulic model of San Francisco Bay and Delta areas capable of simulating tides and currents. The Model is over 1.5 acres in size and represents an area from the Pacific Ocean to Sacramento and Stockton. Humongous amounts of water get pumped through this system and thanks to the necessary chemicals to keep it clear there is some crazy coloring going on there.

Tioga Lake – Yosemite

This shot was taken at the Tioga Lake (elevation: 9,638 ft), a small glacial lake in the Inyo National Forest of Mono County, California, about two miles north of the Tioga Pass entrance to Yosemite National Park. I took this picture while hanging on a small retaining wall which allowed me to shoot close to the surface.

Tahoe Rocks

It was an equally sunny and cold day at Lake Tahoe. The huge, sunlit and warmed-up rocks bought me some time as my wife could catch some rays while I was climbing around & shooting. The sun reflected twice on the crystal clear lake and threw quite a bonfire into my lens.

Pelican Eye To Eye

This old pelican was resting on the Municipal Wharf, Santa Cruz. I think he was pretty annoyed by all the people taking pictures. However, I couldn’t resist either. Thanks buddy.

Shot during a sailing trip at the Bay de Brégançon, next to the Fort de Brégançon where the president of France officially chills out over the weekend. We got a pretty big thunderstorm that night. Maybe Carla wasn’t in the mood.
